We know, for example, that users often search for a keyword they don’t find on the screen, in essence creating their own link. Inspecting the search log can tell us what links are missing from the page, delivering us a bunch of productive changes to make to the site.”
Search data is a tremendous advantage in helping define the language you use on your site. By using language that your visitors are already using you make your site more intuitively navigable. The added bonus is that this can help your search engine placement for those terms.
